Language trips

A language trip is a classic, effective and inspirational way of learning a language in a structured, professional. In a setting where the language best is learned: the places where the language is spoken.

Trips typically run from two weeks to several months, giving you real time to settle in, find your rhythm and actually start sounding like yourself in another language.

How it works

Booking a language trip with Outspeak is straightforward. You choose your destination and school, we handle the course booking — and if you’d like help with accommodation, most of our partner schools offer housing options we can arrange alongside your course. Flights and travel you book yourself.

The courses

Most courses run between two weeks and several months, depending on how much time you have and how far you want to go. Lessons typically run in the mornings, leaving afternoons and evenings free to explore, practice and live the language. Class sizes are small — usually between 8 and 12 students — which means plenty of speaking time and a teacher who actually knows your name.

Courses are available at all levels, from complete beginner to advanced, and are streamed by ability so you’re always working at the right pace. Most schools offer a placement test before you arrive so there are no surprises on the first day.

Destinations

The school matters. But so does the street outside it, the café around the corner and the neighbourhood you walk home through every evening. Language lives in all of it.

Our destinations are chosen because they offer something beyond the classroom — a culture, an energy, a reason to be there that makes the language feel worth learning. From the slow warmth of Seville to the cool precision of Berlin. From the cafés of Paris to the chaotic beauty of Naples. Each city has its own version of the language, and its own way of getting under your skin.

Partner schools

Outspeak works with a carefully selected network of language schools across Europe and around the world. Every school in the our network has been selected for the same reason: because it offers something genuinely good. Good teaching, yes — but also good atmosphere, good location and the kind of environment where language learning actually happens.

Most of our schools run activity programmes alongside the lessons: guided walks, cooking sessions, day trips, evenings out.  We also ask all our partner schools to share their insider knowledge with us — the kind of tips that don’t make it into guidebooks. The neighbourhood trattoria that doesn’t have a sign outside. The Sunday market that finishes before noon. The bar where everyone seems to know everyone.

Why it works

A language course gives you structure, confidence and a teacher who knows how to move you forward. Small groups mean more speaking time, more feedback and a pace that’s actually matched to where you are. That foundation matters.

What a language trip adds is everything around it. You’re not stepping out of the classroom and back into your normal life — you’re stepping into the language itself. The same Italian you practised at nine in the morning is waiting for you at the market, at the bar, on the walk home. It stops being something you study and starts being something you use. That shift — from learning a language to living it — is what makes the difference.
